Electricity - Circuit Symbols Definitions
Switch - A device for making and breaking the connection in an electric circuit. We use switches as light switches, to turn our light on and off, or turn an appliance on or off.
Cell - Not our biological cells, but electricity cells. A cell is a device used to generate electricity by a chemical reaction. Usually batteries.
Battery - A container that has one or more cells, the battery holds the cells and outputs energy.
Lamp - A device that gives out light. Simple as that, but it does require us to charge it with energy.
Voltmeter - It is an instrument that measures the electric potential difference in volts.
Ammeter - Instrument that measures electric current in amperes, which are current measuring units.
Resistor - A device that resists the passage to an electric current to reduce heat.
Variable Resistor - The device allows us to control the potential difference passed through a circuit.
Motor - A machine that converts "natural" energy into mechanical energy that we can use to power our appliances with.
