These are all the poetry terms that we use:

Alliteration:
The repetition of the same or similar sounds at the beginning of words. Some famous examples of alliteration are tongue twisters.
Ex.: She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
Peter piper picked a pack of pickled peppers.

Hyperbole: It is a figure of speech in which and exaggeration is use to create emphasis. Many everyday expressions are examples of hyperbole:
Ex.: Tons of money, waiting for ages, a floor of tears.

Metaphor:
A figure of speech in which two things are compared usually by saying one thing is another, or by substituting a more descriptive word for the ore common or usual that would be expected.
Ex.: The world's a stage - your life is a performance (acting)
He was a lion in battle - he was really tough, a fierce competitor
Drowning in debt - owe a lot of money
A sea of problems - many problems

Onomatopoeia:
A figure of speech in which words are used to imitate sounds.
Ex.: buzz, hiss, zing, clippety-clop,cock-a-doodle-doo,pop,splat,thump,and tick-tock.

Personification:
A figure of speech in which nonhuman things or abstract ideas are given human characteristics:
Ex.: The sky is crying
Dead leaves danced in the wind
Blind justice

Simile:
It's a figure of speech in which two things are compared using the word "like" or "as".
Ex.: Jack is strong as an ox!
Her hair is golden like the sun.

Rhyme:
It is when the same or similar sounds at the end of two or ore words.
Ex. Hay, May, bay, Shaie, clay, day, hey.

Repetition:
It is the return of a word or phrase. Repetition is used to bring attention, comfort, suggest order, or add special meaning to a piece of literature.
Ex.: Run, Run like the wind!
