Atoms. Everything in our world is made out of atoms, atoms are tiny particles that build up a certain thing.
Atoms are what lets us combine different substances with other substances.
If liquid was one giant batch of liquid with no atoms in it, well it wouldn't be liquid. It would be non existent.

When we put sugar in our tea, the sugar dissolves as we mix it around in the cup, the sugar molecules allow the sugar to mix in the water.

Each atom has a nucleus to it, which acts as a brain. That nucleus controls the atoms reaction to other things.
i.e.(in example): when an atom is negatively charged more than it is positively charged in the nucleus, the item becomes negatively charged. When a positively charged atom meets with a negatively charged atom, they attract. If a + charged atom meets a + atom, rappel(de-attract).
An atom can be neutral when the - charges cancel out the + charged. A neutral item does not react to anything, because it is not charged.
