Being Descriptive When Writing Empty Being Descriptive When Writing

When you write a story for example, you want to be as descriptive, and exciting as possible. You want to put an image in the readers head but keep their attention, without putting them to sleep.

To be descriptive, describing the plot is the best way to go.
Touch - How does the character feel when he touches? Use deep words that strike the reader, "his body shivered as he made contact with the ball" instead of "he was scared".
Feel - Describe the feeling of the character.
Smell - Describe the smell that the character smells around him, try to sound majestic.
Taste - What does the character taste?"It tasted like raw fish" instead of "It was bad".
Actions - How does the characters body react? Does his heart race? Does he stumble?

Being more descriptive makes you a better writer, when you are not descriptive, it is just as good as 'text' writing in most cases.
